Wedding party in Yogyakarta

My landlady invited me to attend  the wedding party last week. I was very delighted, because I have a bored and I want to take a refresh. The party began at 13.00 PM and held in STM Pembangunan Auditorium . that is not far from our house ca. 5 minutes on foot. But, we rode motorcycle. Because she was  too old and easy to tired. I was very afraid to sponge on her, she was very fat and old whereas I was very thin and I could not equal to her. But, finally I could ride her until coming back to house.

When we came there, firstly we filled guest book and the guide guest gave us wedding souvenir. And then we entered to the room, shook  hand of the bride and bridegroom and also their family. They looked like happy . in the room, there were many foods that served to the wedding guest. There were siomay, bakso, sate, batagor,  soup, ice cream, pudding, cake, and so on. It made us confuse to choose the food. We tried it one by one. That was very delicious.

“Ermi, why do not you eat again? Let’s eat the food again!”

“Mom, I have  a full  !”

“It’s chance to eat much.”

“That is true. But, I am so full, mom. If my belly is still empty, I will eat all of the foods. If all of the foods can bring to our home, I will bring it for another boarder. But, that is impossible.”

After went around and tried many foods, we came back to house. Before exiting from the room, I asked to my landlady.

“mom, where do I put the envelope?”

“you do not put the envelope yet. Did you?”

“yeah, mom.”

“ ah ya, you must put the envelope in the box after filling the guest book. Do not you see me putting the envelope?”

“No, mom. I have concentration to fill the guest book. As a usual, in Kalimantan,the envelope box in front of the bride and bridegroom.”

“but, that is different with java. We put the envelope after filling the guest book.

‘’ah, I just know it. That is a good experience”.

(laughed together)

“Let’s put the envelope, ermi !”

After that, we came back to home. From the I had a nice experience. I can know the wedding party and the culture of the wedding in java. That was very delighted.
